Failing to love genuinely those whom Christ died for means disrespecting the Cross of Jesus. That also means failure to express our love for His own image, from which every person finds his or her likeness. Each person is an image of God, imprinted with His likeness, and as such, “the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me,’” (Matt. 25:40 NRSV). Therefore, people need to put a stop to nominal Christianity. They need to end the erroneous model of Christianity and begin to acknowledge what Jesus’s message is all about: Love. It was a love so all-encompassing, scandalous, and cosmic that it should pierce our Christian souls and into the world, hence make a difference in the whole world.
