Also, the story of Ruth and Naomi reveals faithfulness, love, trust, and commitment. In these last days, a lot of believers are turning away from the faith to follow after the things of the world. They are looking for what to eat, drink, and to wear. They are running after money and turning away from the Lord. This may appear to be a new phenomenon, but Jesus already talked about this too. He mentioned that in the latter times, the love of men will wax cold. Paul also mentioned that people will love to listen to false doctrines and even follow it. Rather than enduring sound doctrine, a lot of people would rather listen to preachers who promise them things that God did not say in His word. They will be lovers of pleasure and not lovers of God.
Orpah, who was also a daughter-in-law to Naomi, returned back because she figured out that really, there was nothing waiting for her to gain in Jerusalem. But Ruth followed despite not knowing what was in store for her. God wants us to follow Him not only because of what we can gain, but because we love Him. The love of God in our hearts should be the central thing that motivates us to follow Him and not what He promises to give us. Ruth followed Naomi without any promise of a good future. But in the end, she got something better than what she had while she was in Moab.
Whenever people repent and turn from their wicked ways, God is always quick to respond with His strong arms of love and forgiveness. He is ever willing to give everyone a second chance and to help us fulfill His purpose for our lives. Without God on our side, we cannot live up to the potential and purposes that He has for us. God is indeed interested in the success of every human being on earth. Only those who follow Him steadfastly will be rewarded in the end.

If there is one thing we need to run the Christian race, it is faithfulness. We need to be consistent in our faith and belief in God and His word. We see the example of Joseph, who decided not to enjoy the lustful pleasures offered by Potiphar’s wife but instead embraced the purpose of God for his life. Though he suffered for many years, God eventually brought him to a wealthy place. God brought him to a place where he was honored and respected all over the world.
